The Springfield Public Library Foundation would like to thank everyone for attending our 6th Annual Books & Brew. It was our most successful fundraiser to date, over $26,000 raised for the library!! Thank you to our wonderful supporters, sponsors, and business donors for a fun and successful evening.

It was a fun night of music by the Spencer Doidge Trio, food by Sheild Catering, wine, beer by Plank Town, cider by 2 Towns, and kombucha by Humm. Beer pong and cornhole tested the abilities of our attendees under pressure, with bottles of beer, cider, & mead up for grabs. The prize wheel guaranteed attendees a prize every time; prizes ranged from gift certificates to Prince Pucklers and Ranchito Grill and gift bags from Anjuna Medicince, to bottles of cider from 2 Towns and bottles of beer from Ninkasi, Pelican Brewing, and Buoy Beer Company to name a few.

Our 50/50 raffle winner generously donated her entire $572.50 in winnings back to the library! One lucky raffle winner walked away with an Amazon Fire tablet and our grand prize raffle winner won a 2 night stay including dinner to the beautiful Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, OR.

Of course our wonderful silent auction, with 140 items up for auction, highlighted the generosity of our local business community.  We raised nearly $7,000 in our silent auction, a new record for us, thanks to the generous businesses that donated and our attendees that bid on the items. Breweries from across the state donated, including HUB, Fort George Brewery, Deschutes Brewery, Wild Ride Brew, Mazama Brewing, Nectar Creek, Worthy Brewing, and Oakshire Brewing, ensuring a wide selection of brews for attendees. Local restaurants, performing art centers, and stores were just as generous. We are extremely fortunate to have such generous businesses contribute to our fundraiser and auction, including Ducko’s Custom Framing 2.0, Chicken Bonz, Mezza LunaEsthetixMD, Eugene Ballet Company, Ta Ra Rin, Memo’s Mexican, Haven Home Garden & Gift, L’etoffe Fabrics, Noble Estate Winery, Heritage Dry Goods, Passionflower, The Duck StoreMelange, and Due Donne Boutique, to name a few of the businesses donating to Books & Brew. Want to win items from these and other local businesses?? Attend our next Books & Brew 🙂

Our attendees, sponsors, and business donors generous support at Books & Brew events has helped the Foundation fund many programs and services at the Springfield Public Library, including their summer reading programs and early literacy outreach. The money raised has also been used to upgrade book collections and purchase new self-checkout machines.
